The earthquake, was the biggest the country’s capital has every experienced, and reportedly had a magnitude of 7.1. The current death toll stands at approximately 200.
Los Merengues’ athletes, like Cristiano Ronaldo, also took to social media to offer their support and condolences. In a time where the world is currently experiencing a multitude of natural disasters, it is important that powerful organizations make gestures of support that draw attention to devastated areas. If there’s anything that the recent hurricanes in the Atlantic can teach us, it’s that extraordinary recovery efforts are made possible by spreading awareness and harnessing the power of the human spirit. This is only one tiny gesture from Los Blancos, but hopefully it can have some impact in alleviating the suffering and loss experienced by those in Mexico.
