Good news for Gareth Bale and Real Madrid. After being taken off with apparent problems on his calf during the last minutes of Real’s 1-3 win against Dortmund, coach Zinedine Zidane confirmed that Bale doesn’t have a serious injury.
"I hope that there are more turning points like tonight's, but Gareth is now on really good form. His calf has swelled up but it's nothing major. He hasn't had it easy and I'm delighted for him. Getting a goal like that is fantastic for him. This game will have done wonders for him and if you give him the space he's lethal, he's just so good,” said Zidane.
Club sources told Managing Madrid that Bale is not injured but could be rested when Real Madrid face Espanyol next Sunday to avoid major issues, depending on whether he is able to train with his teammates for the next few days.
Bale will travel with the Wales national team after the match against Espanyol.
