UPDATED 09/30/2017 13:25 CET: Zidane said Bale could still make the team’s squad list for Sunday’s match.
Gareth Bale couldn’t complete Saturday’s training session with the rest of the squad and therefore won’t be available when Real Madrid host Espanyol this Sunday —20:45 CET— after picking up a niggle on his hamstring during Real’s 1-3 win against Dortmund last Tuesday.
Still, Bale is apparently going to travel with the Welsh national team even though Real Madrid will try to prove that it’s better for him to rest and use this FIFA break to get ready for Madrid’s upcoming matches.
Zinedine Zidane said after the game that Bale wasn’t injured and that he just had a cramp on his calf. However, the broadcast proved that he was uncomfortable with his hamstring and that has been the reason why he’s missed the training sessions this week.
Knowing Bale’s history with injuries, Real Madrid have every reason to be concerned about the Welsh star, especially if he finally joins the Welsh national team and tries to play through pain this FIFA break.
