Fernando Alonso speaks after being named an honorary Real Madrid member

Real Madrid named Fernando Alonso an honorary club member this morning at the Santiago Bernabeu.

"You are an extraordinary ambassador of our club. All of madridismo sends you our love and admiration. Your personality transcends beyond the circuits and you carry the Spanish brand, and the passion for Real Madrid, around the five continents. This recognition is a sign of gratitude for your affection, commitment and loyalty. Your character represents our values ​​and we want to thank you for your love for Real Madrid,” said Florentino Perez while hosting Alonso.

"I’m always up to date with what is happening at Real Madrid pass. My father instilled in me the values ​​of the club and since my childhood I have enjoyed Real Madrid enormously. I am another member of this great club, and I’m very honored and proud,” said the F1 legend.

Alonso is a two-time Formula 1 world champion and one of the all-time greatest. He is a hardcore Real Madrid supporter and he will be joining other sports personalities like Rafa Nadal and Sergio Garcia as an honorary club member.
