David De Gea asked Sergio Ramos for help during this FIFA break so that he can join Real Madrid and leave Manchester United, according to A Bola.

This summer was quiet for De Gea as Real Madrid appear to be more than comfortable with Keylor Navas between the sticks. However, Navas is not a young keeper and Real Madrid will have to sign a younger goalkeeper sooner or later. That’s mainly why rumors suggested that Los Blancos were trying to sign Italian keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma right before he agreed to a contract extension with Milan.

Either way, it definitely seems like this ship sailed both fr De Gea and for Real Madrid. The Spaniard was just minutes away from joining Los Blancos two summers ago but ended up staying with United as the deal collapsed. Then, Keylor Navas won two consecutive Champions League titles as the starter for Madrid and Los Blancos accepted that the Costa Rican keeper was good enough.
