Real Madrid are ready to spend €135 million on Chelsea’s Eden Hazard next summer, according to a report from the not-always-reliable The Sun. Rumors around the football world suggest that Los Blancos are indeed interested in the Belgian attacker and even Hazard’s father indicated that his son is not signing a contract extension any time soon as he wants to be available next summer if Madrid come calling.
Hazard would be an interesting addition to the squad but would take minutes away from players like Asensio or Isco, as he can’t play the center-striker position. It seems that Madrid will keep an eye on Hazard during the 2018 FIFA World Cup, a competition Los Blancos will surely scout before making a final decision on who they need to sign in order to upgrade the squad efficiently.
Either way, Hazard might be trying to get a bigger contract with Chelsea by using Madrid’s interest. Only time will tell.
