Copa del Rey title now a priority for Real Madrid

Real Madrid will focus on the Copa del Rey title from now on after their mediocre start to the 2017-18 La Liga season, which sees them 19 points behind Barcelona in the table. Coach Zinedine Zidane will not make as many rotations in the Copa del Rey knowing that the domestic trophy represents a good chance for Madrid to win a title this campaign, according to a report from MARCA. Los Blancos will face PSG in the next round of the Champions League and they know that it will be extremely tough for them to win their third consecutive European title.

Apparently, Cristiano Ronaldo also told his teammates that the Copa del Rey title should be a priority from now on, per that same report. Still, it seems that the Portuguese star will miss Thursday’s clash against Leganes as he gets some more rest. On the other hand, Karim Benzema could be back with the team after recovering from the hamstring injury he picked up in El Clasico against Barcelona last December.

Real Madrid face Leganes in the first leg of the Copa del Rey’s Quarterfinals this Thursday in Butarque.
