Marco Asensio will feature in Real Madrid’s starting XI more often during the second half of the 2017/18 season, according to a report from MARCA. The team’s recent struggles will force Zidane’s hand as Asensio is one of the players who could rejuvenate the squad and completely turn things around for Madrid.

In fact, Los Blancos had so much faith in the young attacker that they decided not to sign neither Kylian Mbappe nor Eden Hazard because they would’ve taken minutes away from him, per that same MARCA report.

Asensio was the hero for Real Madrid during the first few games of the season but even though he’s played more minutes than what he did during his first campaign as a Real Madrid player he has not featured in the team’s starting lineup as often as most fans and analysts expected given the quality of his play during the pre-season and the Spanish Super Cup.
