Zidane: “We’ll do our best to win the Champions League”

That’s the only title Real Madrid can win this season.

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane spoke ahead of Saturday’s away match against Valencia and said that the team will go after the Champions League title now that they are 19 points behind Barcelona in La Liga and out of the Copa del Rey after their 1-2 loss to Leganes last Wednesday.

“I was very disappointed after the loss, I didn’t expect it, but now we must get out of this slump by working hard and we will do our very best to win the Champions League,” said Zidane.

The French coach repeated that he should be the one to blame for the team’s struggles.

“I’m the one to blame for the loss against Leganes, maybe I didn’t motivate my players enough for that game,” explained Zidane. “We did many things wrong but we have to stay positive and look at what we did right,” he added.

Zidane admitted that his job will be on the line when Madrid take on PSG in a few weeks time. It won’t be easy for Los Blancos to beat the French side in the Round of 16 of the Champions League but Zidane says he’s feeling the support of the board.

“I feel the support of the board towards each and every member of the team,” said Zidane. “I think the players are understanding my message, I would leave otherwise,” he added. “I feel strong enough to turn things around,” he concluded.
