Brazilian wonder kid Vinicius Jr. spoke to Sport TV about his move to Real Madrid, which should happen in the summer of 2019 after Los Blancos signed the player last summer but ended up deciding to leave him on loan with Flamengo.
“I don’t know when I will join Madrid, but I think the best thing for me will be to gain some experience and mature as a player so that I can join the team at the right time,” said Vinicius. “My agent, Flamengo, Real Madrid and my family will tell me when they think the time is right,” he added. “Madrid are paying close attention to my games,” he revealed.
Vinicius got to know the club last December as he traveled to Madrid to meet with the players and the board.
“It still sends chills down my spine, I met Cristiano, Marcelo, Casemiro...players I controlled when playing videogames and I met them there,” said Vinicius.
He also explained how he made the decision to join Real Madrid.
“It was all very tough but Flamengo helped me a lot. I turned 16 and my time came to make a decision and I chose Real Madrid, but only if I stayed two more years in Flamengo so that I could win titles here,” he said.
