Nacho says players are with Lopetegui
Nacho was recently interviewed by EFE about Real Madrid’s slump and manager Julen Lopetegui.
“We as players are with him to the death.”
“We are calm. We have been through situations like this and worse, and we’ve always been able to get out of them.”
“I can’t guarantee we will win every title but Real Madrid have always proven that with the coach and players that we have, we will always be fighting for everything.”
“We will be there until the end.”
In the public eye, at least, it doesn’t seem like the players have turned on Lopetegui yet. We saw Ramos come out in support of him and the club as well. We also saw Kroos remain confident in the current state of Real.
Nacho now joins them in remaining positive in the darkness of the recent slump and results. There’s hope this confidence and positiveness carries over into their play going forward so they can get back in the win column.
Carvajal reveals he wants to play in the Premier League
Dani Carvajal was recently interviewed and revealed that he would like to play in the English Premier League eventually. This was in response to being asked if he ever thinks about playing abroad.
“I do think about it and I am clear that I want to play in the Premier League. It is an experience that I really want to have.”
“I don’t want to be left wondering what it would be like. But, on the other hand, I would like to spend my whole career here, which would be something very nice, too.”
No doubt now that Carvajal has said this it’s only a matter of time before every English outlet has him linked to the big Premier League sides. No doubt, you hope if he really does mean this it happens later rather than sooner.
Carvajal was brought up through the Madrid youth system, only spending one season abroad at Bayer Leverkusen. He’s accomplished so much in Madrid already that it isn’t a stretch to imagine he would want a new challenge eventually. But, for now, there’s no reason to worry that he even wants out, he said himself that he’d be happy to stay at Real for the duration of his career.
Unai Emery has some thoughts about Real Madrid under Lopetegui
Arsenal manager Unai Emery was asked about Real Madrid and Lopetegui.
“Real Madrid must find balance without him [Ronaldo] and they need time to adapt. “However, I think Julen will find it.”
“We cannot answer for Julen, but when it happens to me, I try to be patient, but it is difficult to ask for patience in football. I’m sure the goals will come for Lopetegui.”
Not sure of the exact reason why Emery was asked about Real Madrid, but it’s a nice gesture to look out for a fellow Spanish manager. They do need to find some sort of balance as a team, they are better than how they’ve been playing the last couple of weeks.
