Chelsea attacker Eden Hazard told Sky Sports that he won’t leave the British club to join Real Madrid this winter. Hazard was asked about this matter after saying that a move to the Spanish capital “is still a dream.” The Spanish media then reported that Madrid could be trying to complete a move for the attacker this next January but Hazard simply said “no”, so Los Blancos will have to wait at least until next summer.
It seems that both Hazard and Madrid would be keen on such a move. Considering that his current contract expires in 2020, Los Blancos would not need to submit a big offer for Hazard, given that he could be leaving the club as a free agent if the clubs can’t reach an agreement.
Hazard would have been a great signing for Madrid this winter but it makes sense to wait a few more months to complete this deal if both parts are indeed interested in this transfer.
