Real Madrid attacker Gareth Bale has decided not to face Ireland next Tuesday and will return to the Spanish capital on Monday. That way, he wants to be as healthy and fresh as possible for the next games Los Blancos will play.
Wales’ manager Ryan Giggs said that Bale was “50-50” to face Ireland as the team didn’t want to take any risks with his “muscle fatigue”. In the end, both Wales and Bale have been reasonable here and this will allow the attacker to be more than ready to face Levante next weekend and also Barcelona in El Clasico on October 28th.
Bale will almost certainly train with his teammates this upcoming week although it’s also true that he might work by himself during the first few days so that he can improve his conditioning and get some more rest.
Real Madrid have not recorded a win on their last four games and will need good performances from Bale if they want to turn things around and compete for all three titles this season.
