After nearly 8 hours without scoring a goal, the Madrid hierarchy seem to finally admit that a goal scorer is needed in the squad. The club are apparently looking for solutions in the winter market. Manolo Lama, of Cadena Cope and host of “Tiempo De Juego”, reports of Madrid’s interests in the current LA Galaxy star: “Madrid wants a striker and is studying the signing of Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the winter market”.
The big Swede joined LA Galaxy after a horrific ACL injury curtailed his Manchester United career. Despite the LA Galaxy’s indifferent form this season, Ibrahimovic has scored 22 goals in 25 appearances. The 37-year-old would be a short term solution for Madrid and would likely be brought on loan, similar to David Beckham’s loan moves to AC Milan during his time in MLS. There have also been rumors of Manchester United looking to lure the Swede back on loan. Whatever solution Madrid find for their striking department, they need to remedy their form in the short-term or face another season being out of the La Liga title race before Christmas.
