It’s do or die for Julen Lopetegui’s Real Madrid. The Spanish manager could be sacked right after this match if Los Blancos don’t offer not only a win but also an impressive performance to gain momentum ahead of next Sunday’s El Clasico against Barcelona.

Viktoria Plzen are mediocre and Madrid should be considered the heavy favorites to win this one, but that same thing could be said about Alaves, Levante and CSKA Moscow and Los Blancos found a way to drop points in shocking fashion against them.

Real’s loss in Russia could make things tough for them if they don’t find a way to beat Viktoria Plzen tonight. They still have to visit Roma later in this group stage and that game could very well decide the winner of this group, so Madrid need to earn the three points at home against the weakest team in their group, no matter how poorly they’ve performed lately.
