Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos spoke to the press after the team’s 2-1 win against Viktoria Plzen this Tuesday. The midfielder had some encouraging words to share about Julen Lopetegui now that he’s reportedly going to be sacked after El Clasico.
“We want Lopetegui to stay. He’s a good coach. That’s my opinion,” firmly said Kroos when asked about the matter.
“Not everything is going well for us but the team won. We are creating chances and doing everything we can to get good results. I’m sure we will turn things around and bounce back under Lopetegui,” added the German player.
Kroos rarely speaks to the media but this time he appears to have the confidence needed to get some statement wins to save Lopetegui’s job, starting next Sunday in what will be a tough El Clasico against Barcelona in the Camp Nou. A game which will reportedly be Lopetegui’s last if Madrid can’t win.
