Real Madrid published a medical report on central defender Raphael Varane, who was forced to leave last Sunday’s El Clasico with a groin injury.

After the tests carried out on our player Raphaël Varane by the Real Madrid Sanitas medical services, he has been diagnosed with a muscle injury to the adductor longus in his right leg. The player’s situation will continue to be monitored.

Varane’s injury could keep him out of the team for next month or so, meaning that interim coach Santiago Solari won’t have a deep defensive line to kick his tenure off. Nacho will most likely replace him in the starting lineup with Odriozola playing in the right side of the defensive line until Carvajal recovers from his injury.

Real Madrid can’t catch a break with injuries this season and they might even sign a defender during the winter transfer window as right now they need some quality backups.
