Real Madrid published the medical report on striker Karim Benzema, who had to leave Saturday’s match against Alaves with a hamstring injury.

Following tests carried out today on our player Karim Benzema by the Real Madrid Sanitas medical team, he has been diagnosed with an injury to his right hamstring. His recovery will continue to be assessed.

Benzema could be out two or three weeks and therefore he is questionable to face Barcelona in El Clasico later this month. The French attacker will surely try his very best to recover in time for such a monumental game but hamstring injuries are always tremendously tricky and nobody knows if he will have the time he needs to recover from this injury. If he isn’t ready, reserve striker Mariano Diaz will be the one striker playing upfront against Barcelona.

Benzema has scored four goals this season but has been completing poor performances lately.
