Brazil coach Tite revealed that he considered Vinicius Jr for his squad list in the past 2018 FIFA World Cup and had some interesting words to say about Real Madrid’s wonder kid in an interview with Globoesporte.
“I thought about it but it was a difficult period for him because he was leaving Flamengo at that time,” said Tite. “He is yet to have the maturity necessary to be more lucid when it comes to making decisions. He is a very good dribbler, particularly in one-on-one situations but he just lacks a little bit of decision making. I think he is an individualistic player but he knows how to listen to those around him,” added the coach.
Tite also had the time to talk about Rodrygo, who could join the club as early as this winter although the latest reports suggest that he will stay in Santos until next summer.
“He is only 17 but he is already similar to a 25-year-old player,” explained Tite. “ [Corinthians coach] Jair Ventura told me he looks like a veteran player and is mature in his decision making,” concluded the coach.
Real Madrid have spent almost €100 million to sign these two promising players but they will need to be patient before they can be truly relevant in the Spanish capital.
