Match Preview

Real Madrid will take action one last time before the upcoming international break next week. They will take on Celta Vigo at the Balaídos before taking the long rest before their next match against Eibar.

Real are currently in a four-way tie for 6th with Valladolid, Levante, and Girona. Celta are currently in 13th, tied with Valencia. Real are also on a three-match win streak under interim manager Santiago Solari. Celta drew their last match 3-3 with Betis.

Los Blancos will be looking to extend their streak to four matches before the international break, they surely want the Solari train to keep on rolling. Things have indeed been looking up, they want to continue proving that it is for real.

Injuries/Suspensions

Real Madrid are still without the similar faces that have been on their injury last the past few weeks including: Marcelo, Mariano, Vallejo, and Varane. Carvajal is back in training with the team, but he is not included in Real’s announced 19-man squad.

Celta Vigo are without midfielder Mathias Jensen and left-back Robert Mazan.

There are no suspensions for either side in Sunday’s bout.

Potential XIs

Real Madrid

Courtois; Odriozola, Nacho, Ramos, Reguilón; Modric, Casemiro, Kroos; Bale, Asensio, Benzema

Luka Modric did not play against Plzen this past week, he will likely be back in the starting lineup for Solari. The question remains with the left side of the pitch and if Asensio starts. Vazquez played right wing while Bale played on the left against Plzen; Isco may even get a start.

We will likely see Vinicius at some point as he is also included yet again in the roster for Solari and Real Madrid.

Celta

Alvarez; Mallo, Cabral, Roncaglia, Junca; Mendez, Yokuslu, Beltran, Boufal; Mor, Aspas

Prediction

Real Madrid-Celta Vigo 2-0

Real Madrid are riding a three-match streak. In those three matches, they have a clean sheet in each one and have scored 11 goals across them all. It’s safe to say that things have gone well under Santiago Solari so far.

Real should win this match, but traveling to the Balaídos is a tough match. This will be a test for Solari to see if they are really at the point of turning things completely around. It’s also his big chance to showcase another great result before his interim term ends on Monday.
