Croatia manager Dalic praises Modric

Zlatko Dalic, manager of the Croatian national team, was recently interviewed and asked if he has spoken to Luka Modric.

“We talked a few days ago.”

“Luka is aware that in football there are oscillations, that after playing brilliantly for a whole year, he cannot always be in shape and always be the best.”

“When Madrid loses a match, then they look for the culprit among the foreigners, so they blame Luka, Kroos or someone else.”

“At the end of the day, Luka is the best player in the world.”

Some high praise calling Modric the best player in the world, who is still a likely finalist for the Ballon D’Or. Obviously, Dalic is quite a fan of what his international player is doing in Madrid away from the national team.

Modric did not have a great start to the season, he sat a few matches before getting back into the squad so soon after the World Cup. It appears as though Modric is getting back to top form as he just delivered his likely best performance of the season so far against Celta Vigo.

Butragueño says Real are happy with Solari

Ex-Real striker and current director of institutional relations Emilio Butragueño had some praise on behalf of the club for Santiago Solari in an interview with Movistar+.

“The truth is that we are very happy with him.”

“There is no doubt that he came at a very particular moment and has been able to achieve very good results.”

“It was a very complicated game and we also had setbacks with injuries, we had personality and character.”

It’s no surprise that Real are happy with Solari and the results that he has come up with so far. So much so that they have reportedly rewarded him with a brand new contract to make him full-time manage.

He came certainly at the right time, a time where Real were clearly at rock bottom. Since taking over, he has earned all the compliments and success he has received. Now, he’ll get a chance to showcase his managerial skills throughout the rest of the season.

Navas undergoes knee operation ahead of upcoming international break

Keylor Navas recently underwent a knee operation earlier on Monday according to MARCA and a photo posted by his wife on Instagram.

He is using the international break, happening now, to recover from this brief surgery. He chose to do an operation that cleans out the cartilage in his knee, which can better prevent knee injuries.

According to the report, Navas has elected to stay in Madrid and train with Solari instead of playing with Costa Rica.

Hopefully, he has a full and swift recovery. Even though he hasn’t been playing much under Solari, he is still a valuable player to this club and we hope he recovers successfully.
