Real Madrid are set to extend Keylor Navas’ contract until the summer of 2021, according to a report from Spanish newspaper ABC. Navas’ current deal expires in 2020 and this new deal would also increase his salary in €1 million, per that same report.
Keylor Navas has lost his starting spot to Thibaut Courtois this season, and even though former coach Julen Lopetegui gave him the chance to play in the Champions League, it looks like that’s not in Santi Solari’s plans.
Navas will turn 32 years old this winter and he might be entering his decline as a keeper, although he was an instrumental player in Madrid’s three-straight Champions League titles under Zinedine Zidane, who reportedly decided not to sign Kepa Arrizabalaga when he could have been available for €25 million a year ago.
One thing is certain: Navas will keep working hard to get the chance to prove himself once again.
