Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema spoke to the club's official TV channel this Thursday and delivered some very interesting quotes about his role within the team.

“Before we had Cristiano and now we don’t, so it’s my turn and I’m ready for that. I’ll try to score a lot of goals and I want to score in every game," said the attacker.

Later on, he was asked about how many goals he wants to score this season.

“I’m not going to put a number on my head, but I like to score and deliver assists," he added. When the reporters insisted and suggested that it would be nice for Benzema to score around 35 goals, he embraced the challenge.

“Thirty five goals? I like that number," said Benzema.

“I feel very well and you can see it on the pitch. I am strong, motivated and with a lot of ambition," concluded the attacker, who has shown some improvement in his scoring numbers and carried Real Madrid to a tough away win against Celta de Vigo in the last game played by Los Blancos.
