Real Madrid midfielder Marcos Llorente earned a spot in the starting lineup in what was a crucial match for Los Blancos. Llorente had an irrelevant role for Zidane and Lopetegui yet it seems that Solari will be willing to give him more minutes down the road.

“it has not been an easy season for me, it’s tough to stay in good shape when you don’t play and I have to be satisfied with the game I played,” said Llorente after the final whistle. “When you don’t play you have to train 100% just so the coach calls your name. It’s important to keep up with your teammates when you’ve been out for so long,” he added.

Llorente might have earned the job as Casemiro’s replacement when most fans expected him to leave the club this winter.

“We all like to play and be involved, my dream is to succeed here and I am hoping to get more chances like this one,” concluded Llorente.
