Can we just be good fans for once?

I am genuinely sick of the toxic vibe we always have as RM fans. An article today literally talked about how quick RM fans flip flop on their stance. One loss does not make a trend and neither does one win. RM fans will continue to whistle at the SB, but does that mean this forum has to be the same? Why do we always need to blame a player and want them out? Isco is just the most recent case.

Isco is a world class player. Period, end of discussion. You don't have to like his style, and you might feel that there are other players who are more suited to face particular opposition, or players who better fit the current system, but his quality is undeniable and anyone who says otherwise needs to go back and watch his highlights. If you still don't see it, keep watching because the problem is with you not the player.

As a RM fan i honestly have grown to love all our players. This is why I can't play with RM in FIFA career mode. I just don't want to sell any of our players. Admittedly, I was one of the first to say Benzema needs to move on, but I was also one of the first to praise him for good performances. In his case, from a financial standpoint we should have sold, and from a sporting standpoint we needed heavy reinforcements in the ST position, and this was even before CR7's departure. Isco's case is not the the same in the least.

People seem to forget this is the same player that unseated Bale for a UCL final. Isco was the fulcrum of the Spainish National Team, and was unstoppable. Man City are looking for a David Silva replacement and have their eyes on him. As much as I hate Pep from his Barca days, he also has undeniable talent, and if he values Isco, then who are you to say he overrated? Isco would be an improvement over David Silva, and i dont just mean that he is younger, but actually better already than David Silva..

A common complaint is that Isco is poor in defensive positioning, but he actually has had some solid defensive performances. I dont recall the exact games, but he actually put in more tackles and interceptions than anyone else on a few occasions. Admittedly I was surprised to hear this, but that also says that he can be coached, or at least put in a system that utilizes his talents and masks his weaknesses.

For example, using him as a CAM in a free roaming role could allow him to press the opposition high up the pitch leaving the team time to get back and organize, or possibly winning the ball in a dangerous position. I think the issue with the Zizou Diamond formation was more so that this wasn't communicated or carried out effectively. Our pressing was half assed at best. I am not throwing shade at Zizou, the man's legacy is untouchable as a player and as a coach.

So stop the whining and the hatred. Just watch the matches and try to enjoy them. If you want to argue that Isco shouldnt be in the squad give a solution, and some reasoning why. If you want Isco to be sold, that's a tall order, but you have the right to argue it. Saying he is a ball hog however is not an argument, but a point, and one I would argue is false.

Madridismo to me has always been synonymous with striving to always improve and be the best. To never settle. I loved that article about Marcelo and Madridismo! He encapsulates everything this club represents. That said, i do not believe this means we attack our own players or discount them for one bad performance. It means expecting and wanting the best.

I think its quite telling that Madrid often play better away than at home. The SB has become a pressure cooker at times, and I honestly have found myself hoping we play strong opposition away rather than at home, more often than not. If you are a true RM fan, then Madridismo applies to you too. Why not incorporate it in your day-to-day life? Try to be the best you can be. Never settle for less! We should be strive to be the best fans, not toxic ones. Especially since the team needs the support more so when things are bad, then when things are good. So come one Madridistas, lets get our act together, if not for ourselves, then for the team.

Hala Madrid!
