Real Madrid coach Santiago Solari did not include midfielder Isco Alarcon in the final squad list for Tuesday’s match against Roma. Isco wasn’t even on the bench for that game after being a reserve in Eibar last Saturday and it seems that he is not on Solari’s plans at the moment.

“He wasn’t included in the squad and these are isolated decisions for specific moments. The idea of being in the starting line-up or sitting one out is overstated. I’ve always thought so, even when I was a player. I don’t consider it like that. My job is to choose who plays, who’s on the bench and who misses out altogether,” explained Solari after the game.

On the other hand, Isco himself confirmed that he is physically “ready” when asked about it after the game. Some fans and reporters suggested that he picked up a niggle last Saturday but it wasn’t the case. It will be interesting to see if Isco can earn a chance to start for the team and make his case in the next few games.
