Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema and defender Raphael Varane spoke to the team’s website about the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup, which will be played in the United Arab Emirates next December.

“For confidence, for titles and because at Real Madrid we always play to win everything we’re involved in. We’re fortunate enough to be playing in this competition and we’ll give it our all to win the title, it’s very important to us. We have to get it into our heads that we’re going to go and try and win this trophy,” said Benzema to

“We’re very excited because it’s not easy to get to this stage, you have to win the Champions League. What’s more, winning three in a row has never been done before and we want to keep making history. We know it’s difficult but we’re excited and hungry to play this competition,” added his teammate Raphael Varane.

Los Blancos will potentially face the winner of the Copa Libertadores Final between Boca Juniors and River Plate, a match which will be played at the Santiago Bernabeu on November 9th.

Solari’s men will be the heavy favorites to win the competition but they will need to be very careful as their opponents will surely try to take advantage of their poor form.
