It’s time for Real Madrid to close out their Champions League group stage campaign with a nice, “meaningless” home match against CSKA Moscow. While we top our group no matter what, thanks to a better head to head record with Roma, let’s not forget that Moscow beat us when we traveled to Russia back in October, 1-0. So, this one is really for pride. But it can also be a great opportunity for our youngsters (you know, like Isco) to get some minutes in the Champions League. There is also no good reason to risk anybody’s fitness in this match. Still, we are far too early into Solari’s regime for him to really risk a loss to Moscow in the Bernabeu, especially with Moscow already being out of the Champions League no matter the result and nothing to fight for but their own pride. So, let’s still freakin’ do this.
PS. Keep an eye on the later game from Group F of Lyon vs. Shakhtar Donetsk - it will decide between the two of them who goes through!
