Real Madrid coach Santiago Solari decided to make rotations for the team’s home match against CSKA. Players like Vinicius, Valverde, Vallejo or Javi Sanchez started the game so that most key starters could get some rest. Los Blancos had taken care of business in this Champions League Group Stage and that’s probably the reason why they didn’t play with intensity and got a tough 0-3 defeat.
Even though reserve goalkeeper Keylor Navas was expected to start this meaningless game, Solari decided to keep him on the bench. When asked about this matter after the game, the Argentinian coach walked away.
“That’s my decision,” he said when asked about why Navas didn’t start. “But is there anything wrong?”, insisted the reported right before Solari walked away while saying “excuse me.”
Some reports suggest that Navas will want to leave the club this winter. He’s won three straight Champions League title as Real’s starting goalkeeper and the Costa Rican player himself admitted that it’s been a tough pill to swallow.
