Real Madrid midfielder Marcos Llorente will stay in Real Madrid this winter after completing two solid performances as a starter now that Casemiro is injured. Llorente spent last season playing meaningless minutes under Zinedine Zidane and things appeared to similar with Lopetegui as the man in charge.
However, current coach Santi Solari gave him the chance to start in Roma and Llorente delivered, so he had to trust him again when Valencia visited the Santiago Bernabeu. Llorente was solid once again and now it seems that Los Blancos will keep him around, according to a report from MARCA.
Llorente is set to start every game until Casemiro’s return from injury and while it will be extremely tough for him to compete for the starting spot when the Brazilian midfielder comes back, Llorente might have a shot. Real Madrid are very pleased with Llorente’s work ethic during the time he’s been a reserve and the midfielder has earn a chance to stay and prove himself every time he steps on the pitch.
