Solari reacts to Real’s Club World Cup win, praises trophy successes

Real Madrid manager Santiago Solari was interviewed after the club’s win over Al Ain in the Club World Cup Final.

“This club is used to repeat successes. But the more you win, the more you know how difficult it is to win.”

“I liked the seriousness that the players have given to this tournament.”

“We made two very complete matches. Although football can give you surprises, we handled it as we wanted. It has a lot of merit: they do not get tired of winning.”

“I think you should not forget the titles you’ve won. You have to keep them in mind, but do not rest on your laurels.”

Real captured their third Club World Cup title in three seasons on Saturday. Despite the questionable play Real have exhibited at times this season, they still managed to step up when there was something to be won.

The club has had great success the past few seasons, specifically in regards to the Champions League and the Club World Cup. Regardless of what happens in the league and the remaining tournaments this season, they will at least have one trophy in their 2018-19 season cabinet.

Modric reacts to his goal against Al Ain in the Final

Luka Modric reacted to Real winning yet another trophy on Saturday and his goal against Al Ain in an interview with Real Madrid TV.

“Everyone tells me I have to shoot more, although I usually prefer to pass. I should shoot more, it’s true.”

”It is an unforgettable year for me, a perfect year, winning the Champions League, then Croatia had a spectacular World Cup and then all these prizes arrived, now another trophy with Madrid.”

”A dream year, really. I can’t ask more.”

Modric has certainly added a lot of hardware to his personal trophy cabinet since his joining the club. He didn’t even mention the honor of winning the Ballon D’or this year alongside his club success with Croatia and Real Madrid.

Luka indeed does not elect to shoot that much, he is a pass/assist-first type midfielder, which he certainly does quite well at. He was able to put himself on the scoresheet though with the first of four goals against Al Ain.

Asensio’s agent reacts to latest Inter rumors

Marco Asensio’s agent Horacio Gaggioli responded to recent rumors linking Asensio with a move to Inter Milan in an interview with FCInterNews.

“It’s an honor if a club like Inter are interested in Marco.”

“I don’t know if it’s true, but for now the player has no intention of leaving Madrid.”

I’ll be completely honest, I had no idea there were even rumors linking Asensio to Inter until seeing this interview with his agent. It seems since Ronaldo’s move to Juventus every Real Madrid player has been linked to at least one Serie A side. Asensio is just another name that has been thrown out as tabloid fodder.

Prior to Asensio, this past week even Kroos was ‘reported’ linked with a move next summer to Inter. And of course, there was the whole Modric to Inter rumors over the latter part of the summer window. I’ve even seen rumors trying to link Mesut Özil to Inter recently. Needless to say, most of these rumors are full of it.

It feels like beating a dead horse when these rumors are talked about, but it’s truly remarkable to see just how many new ones are cranked out each week to try and get people baited.
