Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric talked to the press after being named the Best Croatian Athlete of the Year and said that he wants to end his career at the Spanish capital.

"My main goal and wish is to end my career at Real Madrid, that would be the best case scenario for me, but in order to reach it I have to keep playing at the highest level and that won't be easy," said the midfielder.

Keep in mind that Modric was rumored to be on his way out of Real Madrid this past summer to join Inter Milan. Modric was reportedly unhappy with his current deal in Madrid but Los Blancos ended up keeping the Croatian player. Apparently, Madrid gave him a significant salary raise but the club never confirmed such extent.

Modric then won FIFA The Best and the Ballon D'Or, putting Ronaldo and Messi's dominance to an end. He has improved his form in recent weeks after struggling in the first games of the season.
