Despite being out of contract this summer, Real Madrid will look to secure the signing of Brahim Diaz immediately and fork out a reported €15 million for his services. According to Spanish Daily publication, Marca, the signing is “imminent”.

That same report from Marca states that the boy heralding from Malaga may be presented as early as next week. Despite City and Guardiola’s constant efforts to convince him otherwise, Diaz wants to return to Spain and to play for Real Madrid. Florentino Perez and the Madrid board will be breaking their four year hiatus from the winter market, the last signing being young Brazilian, Lucas Silva, who ultimately never made the grade at the White House.

Despite the evident struggles of the team this season, the club continues to push their policy of signing the best young players on the market. It will be interesting to see what type of role Brahim is given and how his arrival impacts others who play a similar position this coming summer, i.e. Isco, Marco Asensio, Martin Odeegard, Vinicuis JR, and Rodrygo.
