Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi will sign for Real Madrid after the 2018 FIFA World Cup, according to reputed Argentinian journalist Martin Liberman.
Por la info que manejo, @mauroicardi va a jugar en el Real Madrid pero no ahora sino después del mundial. Será fichaje de verano para el merengue aunque ya hubo contactos y está todo avanzado.

“According to my sources, Mauro Icardi will play for Real Madrid not now but after the World Cup. He will sign for the club in the summer even though there were contacts already and everything is set,” tweeted Liberman on January 30th.
It’s clear that Real Madrid will try to upgrade their offensive line in the summer after they decided not to sign any player during the winter window. Icardi seems to be one of the attackers on Real’s radar but many things could change before the end of the World Cup.
Icardi turns 25 years old this month and is a very efficient scorer, although there could be some issues off the field because of his character. No transfer fee has been reported but a potential deal could reach the €100 million mark.
