Real Madrid left-back Marcelo had to leave the match against Betis with what appeared to be a hamstring injury just two weeks ahead of the crucial return leg against PSG in the Champions League’s Round of 16.
Still, coach Zinedine Zidane said the following words after the game, suggesting that the injury might not be that serious.
“I hope it’s nothing serious, we’ll have to assess it tomorrow. He told me he feels like it’s just a knock, but we’ll have to wait and see,” said the coach.
Real Madrid are expected to publish a medical report on Marcelo although they will not indicate the amount of time he will be expected to miss. For the time being, the Brazilian defender will join Toni Kroos on Real’s injury report and Los Blancos might have to start thinking about their replacements for the upcoming match against PSG, a crucial one which could define the season for Madrid.
