Lucas Vazquez and Marco Asensio completed a brilliant performance against Betis last night and they proved that they could feature in Zinedine Zidane’s starting lineup when Real Madrid visit Paris Saint-Germain in two weeks. Zidane himself shared some praise for these two players after the game.
“It’s not a case of them deserving more opportunities from now on, they’ve always been deserving of more. Whenever they do play and have to do the ugly side of the game, they do it and show real character. They’re doing very well. When you consider that we were up against opposition that can cause you problems in wide areas and bearing in mind how we set up, the pair of them did a really good job,” said Zidane.
The truth is that both Vazquez and Asensio are perfect players to have on the bench as they could change the course of any given game against a tired opponent. Either way, Madrid have five matches to play before traveling to Paris, so Zidane will have more than enough time to give other men chances to prove their worth.
