Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane spoke to the press ahead of the team’s match against Alaves, which will be played this Saturday —16:15 CET—. The French coach shared his thoughts on what happened with midfielder Dani Ceballos last Sunday, when Zidane decided to play the youngster for just the last 28 seconds and the team winning 1-3.
“It was bad, I don’t like to play someone for just 30 seconds. At all. I’m sorry and I’ve told him that,” said Zidane when asked about the matter. “He knows that he hasn’t played much this season but he’s still worked a lot, he’s great. I remember his match against Alaves in the first half of the season when he scored two goals. I love what he’s doing and he has to keep fighting,” he added.
It will be interesting to see if Zidane actually decides to start Ceballos in any of Real’s games before the crucial match against PSG now that both Modric and Kroos are injured.
