Real Madrid will trigger their €4 million buyback clause on Omar Mascarell’s deal with Eintracht Frankfurt next summer, according to a report from AS. Los Blancos then will evaluate their options although it seems that they will sell the player right after signing him, given some teams would reportedly be willing to pay around €10 million for the midfielder.
Still, Mascarell could complete the pre-season with the squad as Zidane won’t have many midfielders available throughout the first few weeks. Modric, Kroos, Kovacic and Casemiro will be busy playing in the 2018 FIFA World Cup, so Mascarell could at least have a chance to impress Zidane and see if he can stay with the team next season.
Furthermore, it seems that Frankfurt would like to sign Marcos Llorente on a loan deal, so if Mascarell accepts the role Llorente has played this season, he might as well be a Real Madrid player come next summer.
