Real Madrid canceled their Monday’s training session because of the heavy snow that fell in the Spanish capital all during the day. Several roads that the players use to get to Valdebebas were closed so the coaching staff ultimately decided to cancel the session.
This is definitely an unusual sighting in Spain, which ends up causing many issues for the workers and authorities alike.
One way or another, most football games are postponed when it snows, so the squad wouldn’t have been able to really take advantage of today’s training session anyway.
The weather forecast is much better for the Spanish capital tomorrow, meaning that Tuesday’s training session should take place without any kind of issues.
The club issued a feature on the official website which reads as follows:
The intense snow fall in Madrid during this Monday has left us with unusual images of the capital. The Santiago Bernabéu and Real Madrid City were not left out. A white layer covered the pitch at the stadium, apart from the area taken up by the lamps. The pitches at Valdebebas were also covered in snow.
