Giggs: “Bale has similarities with Ronaldo”

Real Madrid attacker Gareth Bale scored a hat-trick for Wales during the match against China and became the leading scorer for his country with 29 goals. Giggs, a Welsh legend, praised Bale and said that he has similarities with five-time Ballon D’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo.

“There are similarities with Cristiano, they started out as wingers, and really they are now goal-scorers. His teammates will know it’s about getting Gareth on the ball as much as you can,” said Giggs, who played with Ronaldo while the Portuguese attacker was with Manchester United.

“Bale has the goal-scoring ability and he can score every type of goal,” added Giggs.

The importance of Bale’s role within Real Madrid has decreased this season as he is now coming off the bench in the key games. Still, Giggs thinks Bale “should stay” in the Spanish capital.

“When you are at clubs like that you are always going to win things,” concluded Giggs.
