Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane spoke to the press ahead of the team’s match against Las Palmas —Saturday, 18.30 CET—. The French manager discussed Isco’s words following the hat-trick he scored with the Spanish national team. Isco said that he currently lacks “continuity” with Real Madrid.

“I’m happy with his performance against Argentina. Everyone interprets his words as they like, but they did not bother me. I’ve talked to him about his problems. I’m not unfair and he’s an important player for us,” said Zidane.

“I like him and what he does, he does things well. Every time he plays he runs hard and gives everything he has. It’s true that he wants to play more, but so does everyone else. I have 25 players and you have to choose for each match: there are always going to be problems,” he added.

Rumors in the British press suggest that Chelsea and Manchester City could try to sign Isco next summer, but Zidane doesn’t want to hear anything about it.

“Isco is at Real Madrid and he’s going to stay here in the summer”, concluded Zidane.

Isco himself and also Sergio Ramos will miss Saturday’s match, but it’s nothing that should force them to miss Tuesday’s crucial clash against Juventus.

“Isco and Ramos have niggles and that’s why they will not travel. We’ll see te rest when the squad is announced. Those who travel will have to be prepared because Las Palmas are in trouble and can put in a big performance. The objective is to continue with what we are doing and go little by little, focused on the league,” said Zidane.

Finally, the French coach admitted that he would like to keep coaching Madrid next season, therefore denying rumors that he will walk away from the role even if the board want to keep him.

“I would like to continue at Real Madrid next season. I like football and what I do, and I would like to continue. But we already know what football is like. My idea is to continue as long as possible. Here everyone depends on results. It’s a club with high demands and I know where I am,” concluded Zidane.
