Real Madrid completed the job in Paris after a 1 - 2 away victory over Paris Saint Germain in the second leg of their round-of-16 match. The team demonstrated their class and quality in the Champions League again, and they dominated PSG both in attack and in defense.
A well-timed second half goal by Cristiano Ronaldo and a diverted goal from Casemiro gave Los Blancos the control of the match as they marched on to the quarterfinals.
Real Madrid fans all over the world will be looking ahead now to next Fridays Quarterfinal draw in Nyon.

Player Ratings
Keylor Navas, 9
Yet again, unfortunate not to keep a clean sheet after a worthy performance from his outfield players. It was a lucky goal though for PSG as the ball was deflected off Casemiro and bounced off of Cavani — which the PSG player didn't even notice. Aside from that, Navas was again reliable in between the sticks.
Dani Carvajal, 9
This match, and the past matches this year, really solidifies our observation that finally Dani has come back to his original self and has overcome his hoodoos during the first half of the campaign. He did a tremendous defensive job on Di Maria and controlled the right flank.
Raphael Varane, 9.5
Another bold performance by the Frenchman in front of his people. He regularly knocked off PSG's crosses and steadily dislodged any attacks that were presented in front of him. Great understanding with his partners in defense.
Sergio Ramos, 9.5
A very strong performance by the Captain once again. He administered a very organized defensive display by the team for the whole of 90 minutes, in which PSG never really threatened to overcome their two goal disadvantage from the first leg.
Marcelo, 9
Marcelo will always be Marcelo, dazzling and always threatening in attack and at times left out in defense. Great match overall.
Casemiro, 10
A man of the match performance for the Brazilian, heavily involved in all of Real Madrid's undertakings at the defensive end. Him, Varane and Ramos in defense were steadfast and unbeatable. Casemiro finished off the night with a goal for himself — albeit deflected by Marquinhos.
Mateo Kovacic, 10
As I mentioned before, this match would probably be the biggest of his career yet, and indeed he performed really well. He complemented Casemiro fittingly at the double-pivot and did pretty well covering up for Marcelo. We can always count on him on intervening opposition plays and winning balls deep and launching a quick counter.
Lucas Vasquez, 9
A well-deserving start for Lucas. He is one of the best two-way players in the squad. He made a great run to receive the ball from Asensio and put in a perfect cross for Ronaldo for the crucial first goal of the match. His work-rate both in attack and defense is very underrated and it’s a luxury for Dani Carvajal to have such a quality teammate in-front of him in the person of Lucas.
Marco Asensio, 9
Another one who is deserving of a starting position for this match. Always a threat going forward and the creator of the first goal of the match. Also noteworthy is his improving link-up with Marcelo at the left side of the field. Should have scored a goal also in the last minutes of the match.
Karim Benzema, 6
I have too much loved for Karim but this must’ve been one of the most frustrating nights for the forward. He squandered a great one-on-one chance against Areola, and later on he floundered a two-on-one counterattack with Ronaldo which could have easily put the end to the match much earlier.
Cristiano Ronaldo, 10
Well the King of the Champions League conquered Paris with his very decisive goal that certifies Real Madrid’s progression to the quarterfinals. Big Match. Big Goal. Legend. What more to say!
Substitutes
Bale, 7.5
Instantly involved in both attack and defense upon entering the match and was very active. Good move by Zidane in protecting Gareth's fitness.
Kroos, 7.5
Once he entered the pitch, there was an instant calming presence in the midfield which killed off the game.
Isco, 7.5
Such richness in the squad to have Isco as a substitute — another appeasing player to control and put away the match.
Manager
Zinedine Zidane, 10
Finally played the deserving players in the match and was proven right. Perfect return to the Parc de Princes for the Old King of French Football. Surely, Nasser Al-Khelaifi would continue dreaming of him.
