Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic could be on his way to the Italian Serie A next summer. Inter, the club where Kovacic played two seasons before making his move to Real Madrid, sent a scout to the Parc des Princes and appear to be keen on the return of the young midfielder, even if it’s on a loan deal.
Kovacic was asked about this matter after the match and said the following:
“I don’t know, it’s hard to talk about going back to Milan right now, although I loved the country and the city. You never know,” said Kovacic.
The talented player will turn 24 years old this May and will need to get consistent minutes very soon in order to grow into the midfielder he can be. It’s clear that Modric and Kroos are ahead of him in the rotation and will remain that way for at least a few more seasons, until Modric enters his decline, so a potential loan deal for Kovacic could make sense if he isn’t happy with the minutes he is getting in Madrid.
