PSG want €400 million to let Neymar go

This can’t happen, right?

Real Madrid are reportedly keen on signing PSG star Neymar and the Brazilian attacker would also be interested, apparently. However, reports suggest that PSG would ask for at least €400 million in order to let Neymar go, meaning that he doesn’t have a €222 million release clause on his deal with his club.

The deal would be much more expensive, though, as Neymar’s contract with Real Madrid would also be around €20 million/year, so it’s no easy to imagine Los Blancos spending that much money on a single player after the transfer policy they’ve been practicing lately.

It’s clear that Florentino Perez and the rest of the board will want to upgrade the squad next summer and possibly also sign a galáctico. Neymar obviously fills that gap but Real Madrid will not pull the trigger on such an expensive deal, no matter what the rumors and the reports suggest. If Neymar doesn’t force his way out of PSG to make the transfer significantly cheaper for Madrid, he will have to stay in the French capital.
