Three keys to a Real Madrid win against Juventus

Monumental game for Real Madrid —Wednesday, 20:45 CET— after the 0-3 lead they earned at the Juventus Stadium last week. Los Blancos simply can’t let this one go and must take care of business and advance to the next round of the Champions League. Here are three keys for tonight’s match against Juventus.

  1. Do not be too confident. It’s clear that the current 0-3 lead should be more than enough to play in the Semifinals. It’s clear that Juventus will need almost a miracle to come back from that kind of deficit away from their own stadium. Still, many things can happen during the course of a football game and Juve will surely try. That’s why Real Madrid need to play with composure these 90 minutes. If they do so, Juve won’t have a chance of earning such a big win.
  2. Try to score. Forget about protecting your lead. A single goal would force Juventus to score four at the Bernabeu. Real Madrid don’t need to be desperate and take any risks but they must control the tempo of the game and take advantage of Cristiano Ronaldo’s form.
  3. Keep everyone healthy and ready. Mateo Kovacic would miss the opening leg of the Semifinals if he gets booked —and Real Madrid advance—. Other than that, everyone seems to be fresh and ready to play, but they should not force the issue if they get injured throughout the course of the game. Juventus will surely play a physical game but Real Madrid must play their own style of football to succeed.
