Liverpool midfielder James Milner missed Sunday’s match against Brighton with an injury and should now be considered questionable for the upcoming Champions League Final against Real Madrid, although Liverpool’s coach Jurgen Klopp hopes to have the player ready for the match in Kyiv.
“It’s a little injury. It’s serious enough to put him out for today; he couldn’t train the whole week,” said Klopp. “We hope it will work out. But we had to accept it and we had to think about solutions. That’s the solution: Dom is in the team. Now we can go,” he added.
Joe Gomez, Joel Matip, Emre Can and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are also injured and could miss the Final against Real Madrid.
Meanwhile, Los Blancos are “150% sure” about having both Carvajal and Cristiano Ronaldo fully fit for the crucial game, coach Zidane said during Friday’s press conference. Those two are the only players on Real’s injury report.
