Emery: “I think Neymar will stay at PSG”

Former Paris Saint-Germain coach Unai Emery spoke to Cadena SER about the rumors suggesting that Neymar will leave the French club to join Real Madrid this summer.

“Everything about Neymar is just blown out of proportion. He doesn’t talk much but he said that he’s tired about the rumors. The best thing everyone should do is just listen to him. I think he will stay at PSG as it is a very solid project. I don’t know how long he’ll stay there because things can change very quickly in this sport,” he said.

Emery also had some words to describe his former player.

“He’s right up there with Cristiano and Messi. The injury he had damaged his season but his numbers were going to be the best of his career. I would definitely coach him again, you enjoy a lot working with these players. He’s phenomena, he’s got a big heart and he’s a great person,” added Emery.

It looks like Real Madrid will need to spend close to €300 million to sign the attacker, which means that Los Blancos might look at other options to upgrade the squad this summer, paying close attention to the upcoming 2018 FIFA World Cup.
