Atletico de Madrid conquered the Europa League title last night against Marseille and right-back Juanfran Torres mocked Real Madrid while celebrating the title with the fans.

“Let the vikings [Real Madrid fans] know who rules the capital,” sang Juanfran.
This reaction is baffling, to say the least. Juanfran has every right to be happy after winning the Europa League even if it’s a small title for a club of Atletico’s size. Remember that Simeone and his men have played in two Champions League Finals over the last few years, so this is a very small achievement.
Still, they added a title to their resume and that’s always a good reason to celebrate. But why would he mock Real Madrid when Los Blancos will be playing in the Champions League Final in less than two weeks? Juanfran himself missed the penalty in Milan, all but conquering the title for his rival Real Madrid.
All in all, this doesn’t feel like the right time for Juanfran to mock Real Madrid.
