Buffon leaves Juventus, has offers from Real Madrid and PSG this summer?

Legendary goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon announced today that he will be leaving Juventus at the end of the season, saying that he has “some exciting offers” to keep playing football after the summer. Reports from Tuttosport —one of the most reliable papers in Italy about Juventus— indicate that Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain would be interested in the Italian goalkeeper.

However, this just can’t be true. Buffon is 40 years old and Real Madrid are trying to find a long-term replacement for Keylor Navas, who will turn 32 next winter. In fact, they believe that Navas could be the starter for another year while the new signing learns and gets used to the pressure in the Spanish capital. That’s why signing Buffon, who has been on his decline as a keeper for the last few years, makes zero sense for Madrid. He is not a better keeper than Navas today and he’s not the answer for the future.

Other goalkeepers like Thibaut Courtois, De Gea or Alisson appear to be on Real’s radar and Los Blancos will surely focus their efforts on them.
