Real Madrid win Euroleague title, Doncic Final Four MVP

Real Madrid Basketball just won La Decima after beating Fenerbahce 85-80 in Belgrade. NBA prospect Luka Doncic won the Final Four MVP after yet another solid performance in the Final.

It wasn’t easy for Madrid against the reigning champions, but Pablo Laso’s defensive system worked against key players Ali Muhammed or Jan Vesely. In offense, Trey Thompkins and Fabien Causeur earned crucial points for Los Blancos when Fenerbahce tried to put on a run during the last two quarters.

Edi Tavares and Rudy Fernandez deserve to be mentioned as well, just like captains Sergio Llull and Felipe Reyes. This was only Llull’s fourth game of the season after recovering from a big knee injury he suffered last August.

This is Madrid’s second Euroleague title in four years, completing a historic run under coach Pablo Laso, who has put Real Madrid Basketball where it belongs. The players will surely be supporting the football guys when Real Madrid face Liverpool next weekend.
